Nashville Opera holds auditions periodically for Principal Artists, Chorus, and the Mary Ragland Young Artist Program.  Details are listed below.



Coming next:  Children’s Chorus Auditions 2010-11


Chorus Auditions for upcoming productions of Hansel & Gretel (mid-October through mid-November 2010) and Carmen (March through April 16, 2011).  We are looking for children ages 8 - 12 with LOVELY, LOUD VOICES and professional behavior.

 

Auditions are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY and will be held Saturday, August 14, 2010, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Noah Liff Opera Center.


To reserve an appointment, please call Sara or Margaret at 615-832-5242 during business hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Please note:  The Opera Office is closed Fridays, July 23 and 30.


Audition requirements:


Open to children ages 8 - 12

Child must be prepared to sing the first verse (memorized) of “My Country ‘Tis of Thee,” starting on A above middle C.

Bring a recent photo.



Principal Artists


From time to time Nashville Opera holds auditions in New York and Nashville.  All inquiries must be made by regular mail only; we do not accept or respond to inquiries or materials sent via e-mail, fax or telephone.  Selected applicants will be contacted to schedule an audition.

Chorus


Nashville Opera holds chorus auditions at the end of the season.  Auditions are by appointment only and are announced on this website and in the local newspaper.


Chorus auditions for the 2010-2011 season have concluded.


Audition requirements:


Be prepared to sing one classical piece of music (can be in English) from memory.

Bring sheet music for the accompanist.

Bring a recent photo and singing resume if you have one.

Dress is professional.

Arrive early to complete paperwork.

Appointments are five minutes per singer.



Supernumeraries/Extras


Supernumeraries, non-singing roles, are occasionally available for productions.  For more information please call the Nashville Opera at 615-832-5242.
